Business on Bikes event #5

02. 08. 19

Numbers were smaller on the August BoB ride, we’re putting it down to holiday season but the weather was warm and the rain held off – hoorah! The pace was that bit quicker with a small and speedy group and the after ride chat was less about business and more about bike stuff – well it’s to be expected really! 😉 Apologies for the poor photography skills this month, I’m not sure what happened but hopefully in September normal proceedings will resume and a flurry of new and old faces will join us.

If you fancy giving it a go, then please do not hesitate to get in touch – our next event is September 6th, drop us an email, find the event on Facebook through our link at the bottom of the page or fill in our contact form. But whatever you do, and I keep saying it, just keep pedalling! – wonder if it’ll become a Bruce Forsyth catch phrase!

Business on Bikes event #3

07. 06. 19

Our third ‘business on bikes’ event felt particularly special, not only did we have the most attendees to date, which is really great to see these events growing, but we also started and finished the ride from the very popular cycling cafe ‘Caffe Velo Verde’ in Screveton, who really did give us a warm welcome. Complimentary coffee before we headed off and a round of free flapjack with our breakfast at the end. Paul the owner even came along for the ride! Many Thanks to Paul and Jane – we will be back!

If you fancy giving it a go, then please do not hesitate to get in touch – our next event is July 5th, drop us an email, find the event on Facebook through our link at the bottom of the page or fill in our contact form. But whatever you do, as I’ve said before, just keep pedalling! CTV

Business on Bikes event #2

01. 05. 19

For our second business on bikes networking ride we ordered the sunshine and it definitely delivered! It was great to see lots of new faces and some returning ones all from local businesses in and around the East Midlands. This month our ride started and finished at the The Old Wharf at Hickling, which is set beside the Grantham canal. A much flatter route than last month allowed us to extend the loop to 21 miles and we were even given extra opportunity to network courtesy of a minor mechanical (puncture) which was swiftly repaired and we were soon back on our way.

We continued our networking and were able to exchange business cards and promotional literature with our fellow riders over breakfast. Networking can sometimes feel daunting or pressured but we aim to keep these events relaxed, friendly and informal, connecting, chatting and exchanging advice and information.

If you fancy giving it a go, then please do not hesitate to get in touch – our next event is June 7th, drop us an email, find the event on Facebook through our link at the bottom of the page or fill in our contact form. But whatever you do, keep pedalling! CTV

Our first Business on Bikes event...

04. 04. 19

It was a frosty start to the morning for CTV’s first Business on Bikes networking ride, but we were so pleased to see the people who had expressed an interest in attending all arrive at Belvoir Castle car park in their full winter gear getting ready for the ride ahead. Quick introductions were made followed by a short safety briefing and the 10 rides set off for an 18 mile loop around the Castle. It was a cold crisp morning with the sun only making an occasional appearance but the Vale countryside did not disappoint as the route took us through undulating country lanes and quiet villages, warming us up on the climbs and cooling us down on the descents!

We finished at the Fuel Tank cafe in the new Engine Yard retail development which opened it’s doors to the public last year and is situated just in front of Belvoir Castle. Everyone was then able to enjoy breakfast and continue networking and exchanging business details amongst the group.

The premise of these rides is to connect local businesses large and small through their passion for cycling and a relaxed informal approach to networking, we were never sure how well it would be received or if it was just a crazy idea but the feedback after the first event was encouraging and the interest for the next ride on May 1st is also promising, hopefully numbers will grow and so will the networking opportunities. If you’d like to come along, drop us an email, find the event on Facebook through our link at the bottom of the page or fill in our contact form. But whatever you do, keep pedalling! CTV
